Philippe lives in the next town from me and is at all the big animal shows doing

presentation and lectures. He also breeds and writes about a lot of different

animals. My first tarantula book.

Large book with LARGE pictures. A lot of information on a lot of tarantulas.

Locale, housing requirements, how to handle, temperment etc.

Everything you ever wanted to know and more about cockroaches. This is an in depth book about the most despised creature on Earth.

3-4 reader. Some scientific words tells of different webs and is mostly about

webs and how spiders use their silk. 35 pages.

Eight Legs by D. M. Souza

5th plus grade level. Scientific names with pronunciations. 38 pages with a

glossary. Has order and family names and includes scorpions and other

arachnids. Close up pictures but no tarantulas

Great pictures! with close ups and diagrams and a glossary. Facts include;

life span, habitat, reproduction, feeding, and habits. Has scientific names.

58 pages.

Discovering centipedes & millipedes by Ken Preston-Mafham

We raise and sell millipedes and needed information on them. This was

the only decent book we could find at our local bookstore or library.

Miss Spider's Tea Party by David Kirk

Review: Great illustrations, refreshing new story line. Our family really enjoyed

the whole series and recommend them highly.

Giant Tarantula. By Time-Life videos.

Review: A part of the Predators of the wild series. The life South American natives, with a touch of spider lore.

The box says "...the giant tarantula is one of the deadliest, most horrific killers ever to walk to planet." The film is not nearly so over stated with great camera action.

Periodicals etc.

American Tarantula Society. They put out a publication called the Forum that covers the tarantula information at most every level. It is part of the dues for joining the ATS.

National Geographic. The membership page. Of course not every issue has arachnids but it is a great magazine. Even if you don't join, look at their tarantula website.

ARACHNID mailing list. On line mailing list with a lot of people contributing.

Arachnophile E-Zine. An online arachnid magazine.
